The usual hot drinks, Coffee and Hot Chocolate, are obvious ‘go to’s’ when you want to throw something in the thermos and head to the boat, but sometimes it’s nice to have a different flavor. So when I ran across a recipe for Cranberry Cider, I figured I had to share. I mean, just imagine sitting on the boat, enjoying the brisk, fall breeze and sipping on a warm cranberry cider. Umm, yes. =)
So here are the details for you to throw together the night before a wonderful boating day:
Ingredients for this tasty beverage:
8 cups (64 oz) Cranberry Juice
4 cups (32 oz) Apple Cider
1 cup fresh cranberries
2 tbsp packed brown sugar
4 cinnamon sticks
1 tbsp whole cloves (tied in a cheesecloth to contain them)
1 oz light or dark rum per glass – *opt
Instructions
Combine everything (except the rum) in a crock pot. Cook on high if you want the drink ready in 2-3 hours or cook on low if you want the drink later. Such as cook it slowly overnight to throw in the thermos for the morning. Stir from time to time. Add in the rum to your thermos or glass if you want an alcoholic drink.

Simple and delicious! We’d love to hear if you have other drink suggestions that go well on the boat. Or pictures. We love to see pictures if you’d like to share. =)
