The fall colors here in the Inland Northwest are something spectacular to see. The area’s known for its evergreens, but there are a number of deciduous trees that blossom into yellows and oranges that mix beautifully on the backdrop of green. Such views draw visitors from all over the country.
There are a number of ways to enjoy these colors if you prefer viewing them from a car or on foot. We’ve posted about the drives and trails to choose from, but we highly recommend taking a day on the water to see the vibrant leaves.
Either a pontoon or surf boat will do for just such a day and if you’re looking to rent, give Lake Escapes Boat Rentals a jingle as we have a number to choose from that will accommodate a couple of friends or an entire family if you like.
We’ve posted about other cruises that you can also take if you’re looking for a guided cruise that’ll focus on eagle viewing or a sunset dinner.
Along the lines of these other cruises, there’s a specific one for viewing the spectacular fall colors too. Through the end of October, there’s the Fall Foliage Cruise that the Coeur d’Alene Resort offers.
These cruises are 90 minutes and run daily starting at Independence Point on Coeur d’Alene Lake.
The Resort also offers an overnight package that would work well as a romantic package. It’s an overnight at the Resort along with two cruise tickets.
